  • Mission Statement: Sobriety House, Inc. is a state-licensed, nonprofit, substance use disorder treatment provider dedicated to offering high quality and effective services through an extensive continuum of care to support clients in lifelong recovery, regardless of ability to pay.

    Sobriety House is a nonprofit organization in Denver, CO that offers Intensive Residential Treatment (IRT), Transitional Residential Treatment (TRT), and Outpatient (IOP and Traditional) treatment for those with substance use disorders.

    We’re looking for a Clinician to join our team that values growth, contributes to a supportive agency culture, and is motivated to supporting the needs of the SUD population. We are specifically seeking a Clinician with availability Tuesday through Friday.

    Essential counselor duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

    • Intake and assessment interviews

    • Treatment planning

    • Individual counseling (caseload max. is typically 5 or 6 clients)

    • Facilitate group therapy using Evidence-Based Practices

    • Complete required paperwork/reporting to various referral sources

    • Request Medicaid authorizations for clients on caseload

    • Staff meeting attendance

    • Proficiency with clinical documentation and timeliness

    • Aftercare planning

    • Referrals to other mental/physical health providers in the community

    Qualifications:

    • Registered in Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) database. A minimum of a CAS is required (if highest degree is Bachelor's); LAC is desirable. If within 3 months of achieving CAS, application will be considered.

    • Master's degree in related field is preferred; Bachelor’s required.

    • Current or imminent licensure (minimum LSW or LPCC) is highly preferred if Master’s level.

    • If in recovery from addiction, the counselor must have at least two years of continuous sobriety.

    • If non-addicted, the counselor should espouse abstinence and the 12 steps as the main recovery method.

    • Clinical services are offered in-person primarily, but comfort and willingness to provide services in telehealth in certain situations is necessary.

    • Willingness to comply and adhere with agency COVID-19 policies and procedures required.

    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

    • Ability to establish healthy and appropriate boundaries with clients.

    • Ability and willingness to cooperate with agency staff and other agencies.

    • Understanding and adherence to federal confidentiality regulations (HIPAA & 42 CFR Part 2), and commitment to adhere to agency as well as all funding source policies and procedures/mandates.

    • Excellent people skills and team orientation.

    • Ability to use computer/technology, Google Suite, etc. as well as an understanding of using an Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) system.

    Hiring process will consist of a 90 day probationary period to determine if counselor is a good fit to Sobriety House culture and is able to consistently meet work ethic standards.

    Compensation: range is generally $63,000 to $73,000/year to start; however, salary is contingent upon certification, licensing, education, and experience.
